The Chosen
Our life translates itself
into incomprehensibles.
A dropped puzzle
that shocks us to our knees,
where we humbly face the chaos,
the shapelessness,
of our disfigured world
with the ragged edges of our fears,
through passing desolations,
light, fragmented nights.
Beholding the confusing disarray
of our fractured dreams,
the senselessness of the day,
we enter the unbearable
vacancies, gaps, within
our interrupted selves.
Enter the labyrinths
of anguish and despair.
Holding on
to a fragile image
of what could be,
we confront the flaws,
the disconnected patterns,
that made us, broke us.
Deceived us.
Then,
we choose.
Discard, rearrange,
join together
outlines and colors. Scraps
of our former selves.
Create a new, true design
that leads us back
to where we are whole,
one with ourselves,
with each other. Life,
as it translates itself
back to
just life.
